1. Stop All Unknown Senders Until You Check Them

While the Clean Email app isn't a spam filter like Yahoo’s built-in tool, it can still function as a spam blocker for your Yahoo mailbox. The app’s Screener feature works similarly to a junk mail filter for your inbox by putting new senders on hold.

Instead of letting new spammers or email spamming take over your main inbox, Screener quarantines them for you to review. This allows you to decide who gets through. Consequently, this makes sure only important messages reach your main inbox and essentially helps you block spam emails on Yahoo.

From Screener, you can either block or approve the sender. You can also easily review the history of senders you have blocked or approved. Whenever new senders need to be reviewed, the Screener tab on the menu moves to catch your eye.

During the Screener check, you have other options too:

  • Allow, so all their future messages will be automatically sent to your main inbox.
  • Block/Unsubscribe to stop subscription bombing.
  • Pause, so all new emails from the new sender will be moved to Trash automatically.
  • Deliver to “Read Later”, so current and future messages will be sent to the Read Later folder.
  • Deliver To Folder where you'll pick or make a folder where the new sender's current and future messages will go to.

When you first use Clean Email, the Screener feature is deactivated. To activate it:

  1. From the main Screener page, look for the switch button at the top left corner. Alternatively, click the Enable Screener button.
  2. Filter your Inbox from Spam Using Clean Email's Screener FeatureFilter your Inbox from Spam Using Clean Email's Screener Feature
  3. Once Screener is activated, a box explaining the feature will pop up. Click I understand and then Continue.
  4. The Settings box will appear. Look through it and choose the settings you want.
  5. Click Enable Screener to trigger the feature with your chosen settings.

2. Clean All Spam and Clutter in a Few Clicks

Another important feature of Clean Email that will help you halt spam is Cleaning Suggestions. It organizes your emails by sender and creates suggestions to show you which senders' emails you or other Clean Email users often delete, archive, or apply other actions to.

Based on how you usually use Clean Email, Cleaning Suggestions propose actions you might want to take. Right from the Suggestions section, you can mark unwanted senders as Spam. It's the fastest way to tidy up your inbox. You don't need to search through all your messages for a specific sender because Clean Email has already grouped them together for you.

Cleaning Suggestions can be spotted at various easy-to-find places in the app. You can find this feature:

  • On the home page, where there's a quick link labeled Explore Cleaning Suggestions.
  • By pressing the Suggestions button in the menu on the left.
  • At the top of specific folders or Smart Folders.

You'll see the number of suggestions for a specific folder next to the Suggestions title. To navigate through the suggestions, click > or < carousel buttons. You can also click Hide if you don’t want the suggestions to appear. If you want to stop seeing suggestions, click the X to terminate them all. You'll get a message asking you to confirm this action.

Each suggestion provides:

  • A detailed explanation of the criteria and recommended action.
  • A button to quickly accept the suggestion.
  • A menu for more choices.

By default, Clean Email organizes emails by sender, allowing you to handle all messages from one sender together. If you regularly receive similar suggestions, the app can save time and stop spam emails in Yahoo by preventing those messages from reaching your inbox. To automate the cleaning process for these messages, you can:

Most importantly, you can feel reassured knowing your personal messages are secure. Clean Email follows a strict privacy policy, which means your individual messages are never looked at by Clean Email staff or shared with others. Instead, the app's algorithms make these suggestions automatically using anonymous statistical data from frequently cleaned messages' senders and subjects.
