The Yahoo Company allows customers to send and receive electronic mail through the usage of a service known as Frontier Email. It is a supplementary mailing platform that complements Yahoo Mail's existing features and capabilities.
💡 Note: Since it gets managed by the Yahoo mailing organization and cannot be accessed directly, you will still need to register for an account from the Frontier email site by opting for an account with its domain name.
Keep in mind that you can create a Frontier ID by using any of your previous webmail accounts; in fact, doing so is something that is not only possible but also strongly encouraged. Customers who use Yahoo Mail to send and receive messages can create a Frontier ID account and link it to their Yahoo Mail address.

IMAP or POP3: What Is The Difference?
Even though both POP and IMAP are Message Accessing Agents, how they access emails is completely different. Therefore, one protocol may be preferable depending on the circumstances. What works for accessing emails through POP may not work for accessing messages through IMAP and vice-versa.
A copy of your emails is stored on your computer when you access them over the POP3 protocol. This protocol means that emails get connected to a single device. Once the message has been downloaded to one device and removed from the mail server, it can no longer be seen by another email client or device.
On the other hand, the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) enables you to access the same mailbox from multiple devices. This diversity is possible because your messages continue to get stored on the server. By using the IMAP protocol, your client application can communicate directly with your mail server and access all of your emails from the mail server itself. Instead of storing emails locally on your PC, you will use your mail server in this setup.
IMAP's cross-device connectivity comes in handy when checking and sending emails from several devices. On the other hand, you should use POP if you want to save your emails locally and access them even when you do not have access to the Internet.
For most people, IMAP is the more popular email protocol because of its flexibility.
