Useful Information to Remember
As with any other platform, there will come a time when using Seznam.cz will get met with technical difficulties. However, going around them is relatively easy.
You may blame an old operating system, mail software, or application if the mail program displays a server unavailability notice even though secure ports get configured in the program. See the Mail Client Does Not Connect Using SSL / TLS page for more information.
💡 Tip: If you have two-factor authentication enabled on your account, you will need to create a password for the email and CalDAV protocols, which you will provide when configuring the email program.

POP vs. IMAP Email Servers: How To Choose
Post Office Protocol 3, or simply POP3, and Internet Message Access Protocol, or simply IMAP, are both Message Accessing Agents, which means that both of these protocols can receive messages from a mail server and deliver them to the system of the recipient.
Although similar in function, their differences do not diminish their separate aspects of superiority. Some of their most significant differences are as follows:
- Essentially, POP is a straightforward protocol that allows you to download messages from your Inbox to your local computer. Compared to POP3, IMAP is significantly more complex and allows the user to view all of the folders on the mail server.
- When using POP email servers, you must download the message to the local machine before reading it. Alternatively, you can read the message contents in part before it gets downloaded in the case of IMAP email servers.
- Email servers that use POP3 are extremely fast. On the other hand, IMAP servers are significantly slower than POP3 mail servers.
These days, IMAP is nearly always preferred over POP in practically every situation. You will likely want to access your mailbox from at least two different devices, and doing so with POP is a major hassle. Ultimately, there are no compatibility issues to worry about because any competent email provider supports both.
