Definition
💡 A catch-all email address is an encompassing address that receives all messages (whether valid or invalid) that are sent to an email domain.
For example, you may have a domain called “mymail.com” with addresses for sue@mymail.com and bill@mymail.com. If you set up a catch-all email address for info@mymail.com, any messages sent to se@mymail.com, bll@mymail.com, and contact@mymail.com would all arrive in the info@mymail.com inbox.
This means that non-existent addresses and those with typos that are all on the same domain land in the catch-all email address inbox.
How to create a catch-all email address
The availability and process for creating a catch-all email address depends on your service provider. For example, you can set up a catch-all as an administrator for a Google Workspace account or for professional email if you use GoDaddy for domain management.
The setup process can be brief or lengthy depending on the provider’s requirements, your mailbox permissions, and other configurations.
