Help and Support for CleanEmail
You can use Unsubscriber to prevent marketing emails and newsletters from ever reaching your mailbox. This way Clean Email will make sure that matching emails won't stay in your Inbox – even if the sender does not provide an option to unsubscribe.
After meticulous research of the variety "unsubscribe" flows we decided to approach the problem by capturing and moving emails to the trash as they arrive in your mailbox. This approach has a number of benefits:
Matching emails will be captured by Unsubscriber and moved to trash allowing you to review what was removed and easily empty your trash from Clean Email or right in your mail providers interface.
First of all, the system would need to fully download emails and read the content, to try to find unsubscribe links (currently it only downloads meta-data but not the full content).
Besides this being a privacy issue for many users, it is also difficult to execute the actual unsubscribe. Each email sender has its own process for unsubscription (sometimes even including a captcha), most of them hard to follow for the software – usually by design.
We’ve also found that true spam emails have "dummy" unsubscribe links – no matter how many times you go through the unsubscribe process, it does nothing. It can even make things worse because when you access those links you let spammers know your email is active and they can push on it harder.
